American Machine Tool Repair is a second generation family run company. It was founded and incorporated in 1964 by Sandor Karoly. Sandor immigrated to the United States from Hungary. Once in the U.S.A., Sandor joined the Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. After serving, he opened up a small business in Fairfield, NJ. As the business grew, it was moved to larger locations, until, in 2007, AMTR settled into a 20,000 square foot building.

Our custom-built facility in Randolph, NJ employs 10 highly skilled craftsmen. The facility has cranes with a lifting capacity of 30 tons. AMTR houses large way grinders, boring mills, lathes, and a spray booth. This enables us to complete machines “in-house” from start to finish. AMTR has the ability to pick up and deliver machinery with our own International tilt body truck.
 

We specialize in precision hand scraping and complete way restoration which is a unique art that has been mastered by AMTR.
